Friday the 13th didn't stop the Hot Rodders from showing up at Freddy's. We had between 25 and 30 cars show up for the outing. The wind died off shortly after 6:00 making for a nice evening. The Freddy's Cruises are every Friday during the summer located at 900 Sergeant Jon Stiles Drive Highlands Ranch Colorado. We had a real mix car of cars, everyone that has a car is friendly and ready to talk about it. If you get time drop by and admire the chrome and glitter of the Hot Rods!
Couple of Hot Rods: Left a super charged Small Block Chevy. Right this car is named Poison Ivy. It driven all over the country originally purchased in Nash Ville Tennessee and driven back to Colorado.
1931 Roosevelt. very nice restored to original. I got a kick out of the car seat. It would be a blast to be a little kid riding shotgun in a car like this!
Featured car
Ron Berggren - 1957 Chevy Belair 2 door hard top.
This Friday I talked to Ron Berggren, this his beautiful 1957 Chevy it is his latest addition to his car collection. He owns 9 cars total spread between Colorado and Arizona. If you look at the Members Car Gallery the cars with his name on them that are convertibles are all located in Arizona. Ron has owned this car for four years but knows the history on it as it was rebuilt in Fort Collins Colorado and has been in Colorado for number of years. The car is running a 1995 Corvette LT1 350, it has been bored and stroked and is now is a 383 cubic-inch motor. Behind the motor is a turbo 400 transmission into a Chevy differential. The car has been lowered and has a great stance to it. To make the car his own, over the past 4 years Ron has worked on small modifications making the car look and run better. It is amazing the detail put into this car, shaved door handles, hidden wiring under the hood and a beautiful leather interior with electric windows. The car is painted Porsha Red and is definitely a head turner at the car shows it is as clean underneath as it is on top. A little bit about Ron. He was an Optometrist owning his own business for 45 years. A year ago he sold his business so that he could retire. Ron and his wife enjoy Colorado in the summer and winters in Arizona.
